Technical Capabilities / Engineering Services

ARAS BOKHAR is fully qualified to offer a wide range
of engineering services for production of industrial
calculation, material Selection, cutting plans,
assembly and detailed drawings, inspection reports.
welding procedures ,filbrication procedures ,etc.

Types of Material

Carbon steels RST-37-2,CK45-60,Hardox400,St-52-A283,A285,BS 1501-151&161-P355
Carbon manganese steels -A 515, BS 1501-224 & A516
Stainless steels-A304,A316,A321

Types of Welding

Welding to 100% Radio Graphic and ultrasonic Standards is
Carried out using manual metal arc, submerged arc, mig/mag
and Argon arc processes from welding procedures (W.P.S)
drawn up and qualified in the factory (P.Q.R).
ARAS BOKHAR has all the facilities for qualifying welders
to class 1 standards.

Weld Testing

In the material testing laboratory, test plate is cut up to
form specimens of the required size, shape and number.
Cross joints tensile. All weld tensile and bend tests are
carried out in the a 50 ton tensile test machine Charpy
notch ductility specimens are cooled to the desired
temperatures and tested. Vickers pyramid hardness
surveys arc done as required, and band facing and
specimen polishing machines are used to make macro
specimen polishing machines are used to make macro
destructive testing machines such as X-RAY, ultrasonic,
dye penetrate. And magnetic particles are available. All
specimens for vessels to be ultimately heat treated are
factory site are initially stress relived in a temperature
controlled electrically heated laboratory furnace.

Post Weld Heat Treatment

Vessels up to 150 tons in weight and 18 meters long can
be heat treated in one piece .Diameters up to 6 meters
can be accommodated in the oil fired, automatically
controlled stress - reliving furnace. Although the
maximum temperature, which can be achieved ,is around
800C the operating range is 580C to 620C.

Hydrostatic Testing

Vessels are tested hydraulically in accordance with the
methods laid down in the applicable codes of
manufacturing using treated recycled water pumped
from a concrete storage tank pressures up to 450
p.s.i.(30 bars) : can be achieved.
